The Finnish Ski Area Association (SHKY) is the umbrella organization of Finnish ski resorts with the following main tasks:
- furthering the interests of ski resort industry
- training its members - research activities
- industry's public relations and joint marketing
- consumer guidance on lift and slope security
A
central objective is to increase the number of alpine skiers, increase
their skiing activity and secure a healthy growth of the industry. |
Additionally SHKY:
- works on guidelines and norms for slope activities
- acts as a advisory body towards its members and the authorities
- develops ski schools and their working environment
- gathers industry statistics
- develops and works on the industry's market and consumer research
- improve the public image of the industry
